Motorcycles

Sometime in early 2006, I decided I wanted to acquire, recondition and ride antique Japanese motorcycles. My only real experience with same was in 1970-72, before I even had a driver's license, when I owned a 1969 Honda SL90. I'm probably regressing as I get older, but I have fond memories of that time. (Nostalgia is the new fad, isn't it?)

At any rate, I've probably gone overboard. Below is a list of the bikes I presently own, along with their status:

Motorcycle Type Status
1969/70 Honda SL250K0 (Candy Gold) Partially disassembled
1969/70 Honda SL350K0 (Candy Red) Mostly complete, awaiting disassembly
1972 Honda SL125K1 Completely disassembled -- Needs: frame powder coating/engine reassembled
1972 Kawasaki G5 Running
1973 Yamaha DT2 250 Enduro Running
1974 Kawasaki F9 350 Big Horn Undergoing refurbishment
1976 Yamaha RD400C (Geneva Green) Running
1976 Yamaha RD400C (Red) Completely disassembled -- Needs: frame powder coating/engine rebuilt
1976 Honda CJ360T Partially disassembled
1976 Honda CB400F (Red) Running
1976 Yamaha DT250 Enduro No spark -- awaiting parts
1978 Honda CB750K8 Running
1979 Honda CB650 Freebie! Runs, but needs tires and brake work.
1979 Yamaha RD400F Daytona Special Running
1982 Suzuki GS550 Partially disassembled
1984 Yamaha RZ350 (Yellow Kenny Roberts edition) Running strong!

Here are some recent images of my bikes (click thumbnail for larger version):

The 1979 Honda CB650 I got for free from a Craig's List ad. It's complete and relatively unmolested, but it had been sitting for a few years. Runs and drives well, but it needs tires and brakes before it's reliable and safe.
My 1972 Kawasaki G5, a 100-cc two-stroke single. This little thing is a lot of fun, just putting around the back yard. It soon will go to my family farm in GA.
My '79 Yamaha RD400F Daytona Special, which spent most of the winter in my basement and which I just got dialed in. This is a very smooth-running, fast, well-mannered bike.

In addition, I have two rolling frames, one each for the Honda CB400F and Yamaha RD400. I also have spare engines for these two bikes, plus the SL125, SL350s, RD400s, CJ360T and the CB750K8, as well as various other bits and pieces.
